Liverpool and Tottenham have been linked with a move for Juventus defender Lloyd Kelly.
It comes off the back of a quiet transfer window for the Reds, in which Jamie Carragher thought another defender should have been signed alongside Jeremy Jacquet, who isn’t joining until the summer.
Liverpool could lose Joe Gomez ahead of the 2026/27 season, while Ibrahima Konate is still yet to agree fresh terms.

In turn, the Merseyside outfit could be in a situation where they are left with Virgil van Dijk and the inexperienced Giovani Leoni as their only fit centre-back options.
However, Nico Schlotterbeck continues to be linked, while an update on Lloyd Kelly has now been shared.
Liverpool interested in Lloyd Kelly
Kelly joined the Italian giants in the summer of 2025, after spells with Newcastle United and Bournemouth, where he had previously earned praise from former coach Jonathan Woodgate.
As per the Bournemouth Echo, he said in 2021: “Lloydy’s done ever so well since I’ve been here.
“He’s got talent. He’s got a lot of attributes which Premier League teams look at. But he needs to be consistent week in, week out now.
“As long as he keeps on doing that, he might not be at Bournemouth for long, because he’s a really good player.”
“At the minute he just looks like a bit of a Rolls-Royce doesn’t he? He looked very, very good.”
Woodgate was correct in his assessment, and after cementing himself as a regular starter in Turin, he’s now being linked with a return to England.
Journalist Mirko Di Natale, via X/Twitter, mooted Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea as interested parties, while saying he has a price-tag of between €40m and €50m (around £35m-£43m).

Lloyd Kelly would be a unique option for Liverpool
As well as becoming a key figure for one of the top sides in Europe, Kelly’s arrival would give Slot a new option.
Van Dijk, Gomez and Konate have been the main centre-backs used this season.
However, all of them are right-footed, meaning Liverpool have been without a left-footed defender for some time, which is exactly what Kelly is.
He’s also capable of playing as a left-back, meaning he could be used as a left-sided defender in a back-three if Slot were to change up his system.
