Avalon Buried Again: High Winds and Heavy Disruptions

(Foxtrap Traffic Cam NL511, 6:10am Feb 22nd)
Close to 20 cm of fresh snow is down on the Avalon, and that is causing a lot of issues on the roads.
Some of the main roads have been plowed and are passable, but several vehicles got stuck on a ramp between Pitts Memorial Drive and Richard Nolan Drive at about 2:00 this morning. The RNC and other first responders had to go to their rescue.
The Witless Bay Line is closed, the Goulds Bypass is closed and visibility is almost nil on other roads on the high ground.
The TCH at Birchy Narrows had to be closed for a while after a crash involving a tractor trailer.
The department responsible for highways has many advisories against travel on the Avalon, northeast coast and Northern Peninsula.
