Kid Rock Challenges Pearl Jam to “Step Up” and Join His Fight Against Ticket Companies

Kid Rock is looking to reach across the aisle in his current campaign against ticket companies, asking Pearl Jam and others to “step up” and join the fight.

Last December, the rap-rocker met with then-incoming Attorney General Pam Bondi to “open a can of whoop ass on the bots, scalpers, venues, ticketing companies, managers and artists alike who rip off and deceive the public with the horse shit that has gone on for decades and only gotten worse.”

He then attended the White House in March as President Trump signed an execute order to launch an investigation into price-gauging and the lack of transparency in ticket prices. That led to the Federal Trade Commission filing suit against Ticketmaster and Live Nation last month “for engaging in illegal ticket resale tactics and deceiving artists and consumers about price and ticket limits.”

Now, Kid Rock is calling on artists from both sides of the political spectrum to support the cause, singling out Pearl Jam, who made headlines in the 1990s when they challenged Ticketmaster over service fees.

In a video message posted on his Instagram account on Monday, Kid Rock said, in part (as transcribed by ThePRP):

“Really what I hope for is we can fix ticketing for the fans. And by the way, they’ve been fucking the artist too, but I’m kind of second in that equation. I want the fans to be able to go to a show at the prices I set for my tickets, and most artists do.

We’ll see if any other artists get onboard, by the way, with this lawsuit and their management, if they want to talk and tell them about the bullshit that’s going on for decades. A lot of them will puss out, straight up pussies, all these outlaw country singers. There’ll be a bunch of fucking pussies when they should speak up for their fans.

Let’s see if Pearl Jam steps up. They wanted to fix ticketing years ago. They probably won’t, because they’ll be like, ‘Oh, we hate Donald Trump. We have Trump derangement syndrome.’ All these other presidents could have fucking done something. Bush, Obama, Clinton, they didn’t do shit. Nobody has. Trump did. Trump is, we are. So, calling your bluffs right now, let’s see what happens. Rock on.”

In his video message, Kid Rock also talked about the potential of ticket companies utilizing the open-source device The Orb in order to prove that ticket buyers are human, and not bots.

He said, “Somehow, I got one of these world orbs, and that proves you’re a human. Comes with an app — World app — you download it, proof of human, proof of humanity. This thing would cut the bots out, cut the scalpers out immediately. Somehow, I got one in my fucking house. But the ticketing companies can’t figure this out.”
