Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., was found dead at 23, his mother confirmed to TMZ. He died on Monday, February 23, in Utah. While the cause of death is currently unclear, the police initially responded to an overdose call.
“Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord,” Mary wrote in a statement. “Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”
Cosby’s personal challenges were well documented on RHOSLC. In season four, audiences learned that he got married to Alexiana Smokoff and was struggling with drug addiction. In November 2025, Cosby was arrested for charges including assault, criminal trespass, and violation of a protective order and was held in jail for four months, per People. While he was there this February, Smokoff finalized their divorce, per Us Weekly. Mary filmed the RHOSLC season-six reunion while Cosby was in jail. She said during part two that she was simply glad he was somewhere he couldn’t be using. He was released from jail on February 4.
