Photos: Aftermath Of Winter Storm Hernando On Nantucket

Winter Storm Hernando has come and gone with cleanup efforts in full force on Nantucket the past three days. There were 35 National Grid crews on the island as of Thursday, including 16 that came over on Wednesday ferries.

The number of households without power has dropped to under 500 (496 to be exact) as of Thursday evening, but issues remain with internet and cable across the island. The Current reached out to the Town Thursday evening to learn whether they have been given any updates on Xfinity’s progress.

Dozens of National Grid, Xfinity/Comcast, and Department of Public Works workers continue to work around the clock to help Nantucket return to normal.

Island photographer Josh Gray shared some photos depicting the aftermath of the storm on the island with the Current.
