ITV audiences were swift to spot a glaring error during the opening moments of the most recent Who Wants To Be A Millionaire episode.

During tonight’s broadcast (March 1), contestant Daniel Keeble tackled the million pound ladder. The insurance manager rapidly exhausted his lifelines, causing viewers to worry about his prospects, yet he successfully departed with £32,000.

Nevertheless, it was presenter Jeremy Clarkson who made the evening’s most notable blunder whilst asking a question regarding music featured in the film Deadpool and Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

The question stated: “A single by which of these music acts re-entered the UK Top 40 in 2024 after appearing on the soundtrack of the film Deadpool and Wolverine.” The available options included Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Natasha Bedingfield, NSYNC and Kate Bush, reports the Mirror.

Whilst presenting the choices, Jeremy incorrectly pronounced the boyband’s name by spelling out each individual letter of NSYNC. Audiences rapidly seized upon this mistake, taking to social media platforms to highlight the error.

“Jeremy saying ‘N-S-Y-N-C’ rather than ‘N-Sync'” commented one viewer, accompanied by numerous laughing emojis. Another wrote: “Did Jeremy Clarkson just say the band name of NSYNC by just spelling it out?”

One viewer remarked: “Jeremy spelling out the band name NSYNC like that is wild behaviour,” whilst another ITV audience member observed: “Love how Clarkson spells out all the letters of NSYNC.” A fifth joked: “NSYNC feeling humbled by Jeremy Clarkson.”

The correct answer was indeed NSYNC, with 48 per cent of the studio audience also identifying it accurately. The band’s song ‘Bye, Bye, Bye’ appeared in the film’s opening sequence, which features Deadpool dancing to the number.

Jeremy subsequently acknowledged his error concerning the band’s pronunciation, and quipped before the ad break that he would allow Daniel to educate him about the group and its proper pronunciation.
