Bahrain, UAE, and Dubai News Live Updates: Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has said that “Iranian aggression” targeted a maritime facility near Mina Salman port in the capital, Manama. In a statement, the ministry said civil defence teams were “initiating its procedures to control the fire”. Footage circulating online shows firefighters attempting to extinguish flames as large plumes of smoke rise from the site. The attack has left at least one Asian worker dead, while several others are injured, the authorities said.
On Sunday, satellite images showed two separate fires burning at Jebel Ali port in Dubai following reported Iranian strikes. The images, captured after the attacks, show plumes of smoke rising from different areas within the sprawling port complex, one of the busiest shipping hubs in the Middle East. This comes shortly after an Iranian drone attack struck a naval base in Abu Dhabi that hosts French forces and the US Army’s Camp Buehring in central Kuwait.
Iran has launched attacks on several US allies across the Middle East, targeting the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia in retaliation for American and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory on February 28. Among the reported targets were Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, Jumeirah Island, the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai International Airport, and Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, along with US military bases in Qatar and Kuwait. Meanwhile, Iran has activated a Decentralized Mosaic Defense doctrine for its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, restructuring its command architecture into autonomous provincial units that can operate independently. An American F-15E “Strike Eagle” fighter aircraft reportedly crashed in Kuwait, according to Iranian State media.
