David Beckham sent a heartfelt message when reaching out on his eldest son Brooklyn’s birthday last year. The rift between Brooklyn, who turns 27 on Wednesday, and his family has been well-documented.
The former model married Nicola Peltz in 2022. There had been much speculation about Brooklyn’s bond with his parents David and Victoria before his shock statement in January.
Taking to social media, the Beckhams’ eldest child accused his parents of trying to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola. He also claimed that ex-Spice Girl Victoria had “hijacked” the first dance at his wedding.
In part of his statement, Brooklyn said: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”

David and Victoria have yet to respond publicly to their son’s comments. However, David admitted in a post celebrating Brooklyn’s 26th birthday last year that he longed to see his son.

The England and Manchester United legend wrote: “Happy Birthday Bust x we love you so much have the best day lots of cake and hot sauce, we miss you.”
The image showed a young Brooklyn pulling faces with his dad. The 50-year-old tagged Brooklyn and several other family members in his caption.
The ex-England captain recently spent time skiing in the French Alps with his daughter Harper. It followed the teenager sending an emotional message to her oldest brother last month.

In a social media post, David said of their skiing trip: “Creating memories with the kids either together or one on one has always been been important to me so this week Me and Harper created a few more memories Love you pretty lady @harperbeckham.”
David has also reportedly been taking tennis sessions with Romeo, 23, while Victoria shares a musical bond with son Cruz. The 21-year-old has embarked on a UK tour with his band The Breakers.
The Mirror has reported claims that it is part of the Beckhams’ desire to show a united front. A source said: “This is the only way they know how to deal with it. They want to show Brooklyn and everyone else that they’re one unit, and this rift won’t break them.
“David and Victoria want to show how much they adore their kids and are supportive – and that all of their careers are their own choices.”
