Paddy McGuinness was left stunned after he pointed out one of ITV cost cutting measures on live TV during an appearance on This Morning.

It’s been a year of changes for the broadcaster, who announced their plans to revamp their daytime schedule as part of new cost-saving measures. It was previously reported that the changes would result in approximately 220 positions being eliminated.

Good Morning Britain was given an extra half hour on air on Mondays to Fridays as a result of Lorraine Kelly’s self-titled talk show now airing at reduced runtime of 30 minutes, airing from 9.30am to 10am instead of its previous hour-long format.

Additionally, both Lorraine and Loose Women are now only running for 30 weeks a year, dramatically reduced from airing every week. Next week will be the first time neither programme airs in 2026.

While This Morning continues to air from 10am to 12.30pm on weekdays, the programme has moved away from Television Centre, London, where it was filmed for seven years. This Morning, Lorraine and Loose Women are now all being filmed at The H Club Studio in London’s Covent Garden.

With all the daytime line-up all being produced under one roof, the studio boasts a 360 degree set with LED walls which will ensure a quick turn around between shows and maximise use of the studio space.

On Friday Morning (March 6), former Take Me Out and Top Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness appeared alongside Capital Radio’s Jordan North to talk about taking part in Soccer Aid 2026.

Just moments into the pair’s interview with Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, Paddy became distracted when he learned during a preview for Loose Women that it was being filmed in the same room he was sat in.

“I didn’t know that, she’s there? Spin the camera around, look at that! I was going, where are you and you’re there. I’m going over,” he said before racing across to where Loose Women is filmed.

Paddy proceeded to give Kaye Adams a big hug, who asked him to ‘come and be a Loose Woman’ after he asked her if she’s alright.

Alison and Dermot poked fun at Paddy over his revelation, with the latter saying he’s ‘ruined it now’ as Alison joked not to ‘ruin the magic’.

“I’ve been watching telly for over 20 years and I’ve only just got onto that now,” Paddy joked.

Meanwhile, Paddy provided an insight about why Soccer Aid continues to play a big role in his life ahead of this year’s game which takes place on May 31 at the London Stadium and will see a number of celebrity and footballing stars raising money for Unicef.

“The main thing is staying injury free for the game. You’ll have the best week ever, the training is amazing. You get to play with these legends of the game. You can go too much in training and then you’re crooked for the game, take it easy.

“You can hear everything, when you’re watching football on the telly, sometimes you go ‘what you’re doing’. You can hear everything. It’s amazing. The money is raised by having a good time with families coming out,” he said.
