Flames trade forward Nazem Kadri to Avalanche

In exchange, the Flames received a conditional 2028 first-round pick, a conditional 2027 second-round draft pick, forward Victor Olofsson and the rights to forward Max Curran.
Calgary will also retain 20 per cent of Kadri’s salary, the team announced. The Flames also sent a 2027 fourth-round pick to the Avalanche.
Kadri won a Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022.
The 35-year-old has 12 goals and 29 assists in 61 games for the Flames this season. He’s got 1,046 career games under his belt, with 319 goals and 751 points.
Kadri is under contract through the 2028-29 season with a cap hit of $7 million.
The London Knights product was an NHL all-star in 2022 and ‘23.
The Leafs selected Kadri seventh overall in the 2009 draft. Toronto traded Kadri to the Avs in the summer of 2019 and played there for three seasons before signing with the Flames in free agency in 2022.
Now, he’ll get the chance to run it back for the Stanley Cup-favourite Avalanche.
