Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira aren’t messing around when it comes to settling their decade-long score.
The fan favorites both successfully made weight Friday at the official weigh-ins for UFC 326, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday. Holloway, the reigning “BMF” champion came in at 155.5 pounds, while Oliveira registered at 156.
The BMF belt is not an officially sanctioned title, so neither fighter was required to hit the lightweight championship limit of 155 pounds. Both made use of the standard one-pound allowance for a non-title fight.
Holloway and Oliveira first fought at UFC Saskatoon in August 2015, but the highly anticipated featherweight duel ended in under two minutes when Oliveira suffered a neck injury. Since that time, they’ve gone on to Hall of Fame careers with both winning UFC championships (Holloway at 145 pounds, Oliveira at 155 pounds) and recording highlight-reel victories over some of the best fighters of this generation.
In MMA Fighting’s Pound-for-Pound Rankings, Holloway stands at No. 12, with Oliveira at No. 19.
The UFC 326 lineup did get a minor shakeup when it was announced that Jeong Yeong Lee was forced to withdraw from a preliminary featherweight bout with Gaston Bolanos due to weight-cutting issues. Lee was stepping in on a little over two weeks’ notice for Joo Sang Yoo. Bolanos successfully weighed in before news of the cancelation, coming in at 145.5 pounds.
