More than 40 jobs lost as Aberdeen business King Foods folds

Foodstore Ltd traded as King Foods, and was said to have experienced adverse trading for a number of years due to increased competition and cost price inflation.
This was described as being exacerbated by challenges faced by hospitality and catering companies.
The directors ceased trading in mid-February, following which steps were taken to file for the appointment of administrators.
Interpath said that with no prospect of trade resuming, it was with regret that the staff had been made redundant.
Geoff Jacobs, managing director at Interpath, said: “We will now commence the process of marketing the company’s business and assets, including its fitted cold storage facility in Aberdeen, its vehicle fleet and other properties.”
