Red Lion Hotel in Kelso burns Saturday afternoon

KELSO, Wash. (KATU) — Firefighters battled a commercial fire Saturday afternoon at a hotel in Kelso after crews arrived to find smoke coming from the building.
Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue responded to a fire alarm at 510 Kelso Drive at 1:39 p.m. Saturday. The building on fire was the Red Lion Hotel.
When fire crews arrived, they reported smoke showing from the front side of the building.

Firefighters evacuated all guests and employees from the hotel and began fire suppression efforts.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is not known at this time, a spokesperson for Cowlitz Fire & Rescue said.
Several KATU viewers submitted images of the fire.
Resources on scene included six fire engines, three ladder trucks, one water tender and five chief officers managing the incident, Cowlitz Fire & Rescue said.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue, Longview Fire Department, Clark Cowlitz Fire & Rescue, Columbia River Fire & Rescue, Cowlitz County Fire District 6 in Castle Rock, Cowlitz County Fire District 5 in Kalama, and Lewis County Fire. Kelso Police, Cowlitz County Public Works and Cowlitz County Public Utilities also responded.
