Five arrested after stabbing in Finchley

Police have arrested five men after a stabbing in West Finchley on Saturday night.

Officers were called to Ballards Lane just after 7pm, where they found a man in his 40s with stab injuries.

It comes in the same week that hundreds of Iranians in Finchley turned out to celebrate the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah ali Khamenei.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 6.52pm on Saturday 7 March to reports of a stabbing in Ballards Lane, Finchley, N3.

“We sent resources including ambulance crews, a clinical team manager, an advanced paramedic practitioner and an incident response officer.

“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre.”

The victim was taken to hospital where his condition was not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Five men, aged between 19 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of affray. They remain in custody.
