AVONDALE, Ariz. – Kyle Larson’s
gritty, resilient third-place run at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday
was the type of performance that NASCAR Cup Series championships are often built upon.
And that showed up in the points standings too as Larson moved into the top 10 after just four events on the 26-race regular season. Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott
is still the best of the group and will enter Las Vegas Motor Speedway next week in fourth.
Right behind Larson in 11th is William Byron
who ground out a solid finish as well on Sunday, coming home seventh after a cut tire in stage two.
Hendrick Motorsports
is the only organization with three drivers in the top 11 in points.
