Carol Vorderman has had to slash the number of lovers she has down from five to three, admitting: “Times are hard.”
She now only has a trio of three long-term “special” male friends on the go after previously enjoying the attention of five.
The maths whiz has always been open about loving her friends with benefits.
Vorderman, 65, says she can’t think of “anything worse than being with a full-time partner”.
But she and her male regulars have always been free to end the relationships at any time.
However, although Carol parted ways with two of them she has not found any new ones – and now makes do with just three.

She told the Life’s A Beach podcast: “It’s down to three. Times are hard.”
But she said despite the open sex life she does not believe in short-term holiday romances.
She added: “Here’s the thing, there’s a big difference between going on holiday and having a you know what and coming back. And I don’t do that.”
She said of her unusual relationships: “It’s very different. They’re three like quite long term.”
She also admitted she was once “very happily married” to her second husband – and father of her children – Patrick King for many years until they separated in 2000.
Before that she tied the knot with Royal Navy officer Christopher Mather when she was 24, but the union only lasted 12 months.

Vorderman, a qualified pilot, has also made another big change in her life saying she has sold her personal plane.
She said: “I got a bigger one, and then I sold her.
“I felt really sad actually because she was beautiful. I called her ‘Mildred’.
“I flew her all around Europe. I used to go to Poland for some reason or other quite a bit.
“And then I used to love lining up in this tiny little plane, like going into Budapest International airport because they don’t charge you very much to land there, and literally like queuing up behind this jumbo jet.
“This tiny thing, mine wouldn’t even come up to the wheels. They’d run over me like an ant. I enjoyed that.”
