Reports: Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker agrees to deal with Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are adding the reigning Super Bowl MVP to their roster.

The Chiefs have agreed to a deal with running back Kenneth Walker as they look to upgrade their running game, according to multiple reports on Monday.

The deal is worth up to $45 million over three years, making it the highest-paid free agent deal for a running back in NFL history.

Walker, 25, enjoyed a solid fourth season in Seattle, eclipsing 1,000 yards rushing for the first time since his rookie season. But the post-season is where the former second-round pick stole the spotlight, totalling 313 yards and four TDs with another 104 yards through the air en route to a Super Bowl victory.

In the Big Game, Walker posted 135 rushing yards for his third straight 100-yard performance of the playoffs, matching Hall of Famer Terrell Davis’ mark in 1998, which was also the last time a RB took home the Super Bowl MVP.

Last season was also the first time in his short career that Walker played a full 17-game season, as his previous high was 15.
