The Detroit Lions aren’t done retooling their offensive line yet.
The Lions reached agreement on a free-agent contract with Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Larry Borom on Monday, March 9, NFL Network reported, on the first day of 2026 NFL free agency.
Borom, who played his high school football at Birmingham Brother Rice and was named to the Free Press’ first-team All-North team in 2016, started 11 games at right tackle for the Dolphins last season. He has been a part-time starter the past five seasons with the Dolphins and Chicago Bears.
The Lions kicked off free agency Monday by agreeing to a three-year deal with center Cade Mays.
They struggled up front at times last season and are shuffling personnel on their line this offseason. Last week, the Lions cut veteran interior lineman Graham Glasgow in a cost-cutting move, and left tackle Taylor Decker asked for his release after the Lions asked him to cut his salary.
Borom, who turns 27 on March 30, has primarily played right tackle in his career. His addition could pave the way for the Lions to move All-Pro right tackle Penei Sewell to the left side to replace Decker.
On Monday, the Lions also lost two defensive starters, Alex Anzalone and Amik Robertson, in free agency. Anzalone agreed to a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Robertson will play next season for the Washington Commanders.
This is a developing story.
