Oilers’ Colton Dach leaves game vs. Avalanche with apparent injury

The new addition to the Edmonton Oilers left the game against the Colorado Avalanche in the first period after appearing to suffer an injury. The broadcast confirmed that the forward would not return to the game.

Dach, acquired by the Oilers alongside Jason Dickinson from the Chicago Blackhawks, laid a heavy hit on Avalanche defenceman Josh Manson and appeared to be in immediate pain.

He remained on the bench briefly before heading down the tunnel.

Tuesday’s game was Dach’s third with the Oilers after his acquisition on Wednesday. In that time, he’s picked up one assist.

Through 55 total games this season split between the Blackhawks and Oilers, the St. Albert, Alta., native has three goals and 10 points.
