STM: Bus Network Redesign

Wednesday, February 17, 4 p.m.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is preparing for the opening of the REM’s Anse-à-l’Orme branch. In recent weeks, the STM has shared information on its website about the redesign of its bus network, explaining how the changes will offer better services, introduce simplified routes and ensure connections with the REM. This major redesign affects more than 80 bus routes in six boroughs and nine demerged cities.

Although the date has not yet been confirmed, REM has indicated that its official opening will take place in the spring of 2026. In this context, the STM would like to introduce transit users to the new routes that will be rolled out when the REM branch opens.

New Routes and Schedules

Between now and the launch of the REM branch, you are invited to test the STM’s Route Simulator. It will show you routes, bus lines, timetables and connections offering you the best routes to school, university, home, work or your favourite pastimes.

Impact of the Redesign on Pointe-Claire

The redesign of the bus network in Pointe-Claire improves access to the REM and links between neighbourhoods and major hubs, while simplifying the express service along the Highway 20 corridor.

After the redesign:

  • 56 new stops in the area
  • 21% of public transit trips starting in Pointe-Claire are shortened by at least 5 minutes
  • 5,425 residents now live within a 10-minute walk of a frequent bus line, an increase of 140%

Navette Or

The Navette Or service is not affected by the redesign of the bus network. These shared taxis will continue to serve the Pointe-Claire area. This service is available to residents aged 65 and over.
