Man shot during home invasion in midtown, Toronto police say

Toronto police are investigating a home invasion shooting in Toronto’s Lytton Park neighbourhood that left one man with serious injuries.

Officers were called to a home on Glencairn Avenue, near Lawrence Avenue and Avenue Road, at around 2:15 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

Police said they later learned five masked suspects broke into the home and a struggle ensued between a resident and the suspects.

One person was shot in the leg during the altercation, police said.

According to paramedics, one man was transported from the home to hospital in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.

Police have not released any information on possible suspects.
