After earlier forecasts raised the possibility of severe storms and tornadoes in Ohio this week, central Ohio is expected to see calmer— though breezy— conditions heading into the weekend.
Forecasters are now calling for cooler temperatures and very windy conditions through the weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for parts of central Ohio from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 13.
Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts as high as 60 mph possible during the day.
- Thursday, March 12: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46 degrees. There will be west wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
- Thursday night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 36 degrees. There will be light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph after midnight.
- Friday, March 13: A slight chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 57 degrees. Windy, with a south wind 20 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. There will be a 20% chance of precipitation.
- Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31 degrees. There will be northwest wind 13 to 18 mph decreasing to 7 to 12 mph after midnight, and winds could gust as high as 37 mph.
- Saturday, March 14: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50 degrees. There will be light and variable wind.
- Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41 degrees.
- Sunday, March 15: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70 degrees. Breezy.
- Sunday night: Rain, mainly after 2 a.m. Low around 36 degrees. Breezy. There will be an 80% chance of precipitation.
