NBA Star Anthony Edwards Made History In Timberwolves-Warriors Game

On Friday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves played the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

The Timberwolves won by a score of 127-117.

Anthony Edwards finished with 42 points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block while shooting 13/22 from the field and 4/9 from three-point range in 37 minutes of playing time.

Edwards also made NBA history with his incredible performance.

Real App wrote: “Anthony Edwards now has the 4th most points by a player before turning 25 in NBA history. He passes Carmelo Anthony.”

Edwards had come into the night with averages of 29.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 49.2% from the field and 40.2% from three-point range in 56 games.

He is in his sixth NBA season (all with the Timberwolves).

Charlie Walton of Zone Coverage wrote: “Minnesota gives up 69 points in the second half, allowing Golden State to cut a 25-point hole into 7 with 8:37 left, but the Wolves hold on and snap their 3-game skid. Anthony Edwards was brilliant, start to finish: 42 points 8 rebounds 5 assists 13-22 FGs // 4-9 3Ps // 12-12 FTs”

Minnesota gives up 69 points in the second half, allowing Golden State to cut a 25-point hole into 7 with 8:37 left, but the Wolves hold on and snap their 3-game skid. Anthony Edwards was brilliant, start to finish:

Edwards And The Timberwolves This Season

The Timberwolves are now 41-26 in 67 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

They have won six out of their last ten games.

Following the Warriors, the Timberwolves will play their next game on Sunday when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Edwards has helped lead the Timberwolves to the Western Conference finals in each of the previous two seasons.

Prior to his arrival, they had not made it that far since the 2004 season with Kevin Garnett.

Warriors Struggling

The Warriors are the ninth seed with a 32-34 record in 66 games.

They have lost four in a row (and three out of their last ten).
