Drew McIntyre returns after quitting WWE (UPDATED)

UPDATE: After quitting WWE at the start of the show, Drew McIntyre returned in the third hour of SmackDown to cost Jacob Fatu his match against Trick Williams. He laid out Fatu with a Claymore and then glanced at the WrestleMania sign. So much for the whole quitting thing, I guess. In fact, GM Nick Aldis has already announced McIntyre vs. Fatu for next week’s (Mar. 20) episode.
The original story is below this line.
After losing the WWE championship last week on SmackDown, Drew McIntyre took the show hostage to kick off tonight’s (Mar. 13) episode. He demanded that GM Nick Aldis come out and make things right after he was screwed out of his title. Drew accused Nick of being a corporate stooge who intentionally found a way to get the belt back on WWE’s golden boy ahead of WrestleMania 42.
Aldis got in the ring and shut down all of Drew’s arguments, telling him to look in the mirror for someone to blame for his loss. Just as McIntyre issued the ‘fix it or else’ ultimatum, Jacob Fatu hit the scene.
The Samoan Werewolf proudly took credit for last week’s title change: “I’m the one that screwed your ass!” He also made a great point that Drew never would have won the belt in the first place if it wasn’t for Jacob, so he was just restoring things back to how they should have been when he screwed McIntyre out of the belt.
Jacob dared Drew to do something about. The former WWE champion was seething for much of this segment, but instead of taking Fatu’s bait for a fight, he decided to quit WWE. He’s simply had enough of this bullshit with Cody, Nick, Jacob, and the fans.
After the commercial break, there was a backstage segment where Trick Williams accidentally talked his way into a match with Fatu for later in the night. Perhaps McIntyre will decide to unquit WWE and attack Jacob when all is said and done.
Let me know in the comments below how long you expect Drew McIntyre to be gone from WWE after quitting tonight, Cagesiders.
