Rose Byrne Looks Like a Vision in Florals at the 2026 Oscars

Rose Byrne has officially arrived at the 98th annual Academy Awards.
Tonight, the actor joined her industry peers on the red carpet at Hollywood’s iconic Dolby Theatre, where she made a glamorous fashion statement in a dramatic black gown by Dior. Teaming up with her stylist, Kate Young, Byrne opted for a strapless dress with a voluminous trumpet silhouette. Intricate beaded floral embroidery covered the bodice, the waist, and the hemline of the gown’s train. She accessorized simply, wearing stud earrings, a gold flower-shaped collar necklace, and—for a pop of color—a bright red lip.

Byrne’s starring role in the A24 drama If I Had Legs I’d Kick You has earned the actor her first-ever Oscar nomination. Picking up a nod in the Best Actress category, Byrne will face off for the Oscar tonight alongside fellow nominees Jessie Buckley, Kate Hudson, Emma Stone, and Renate Reinsve. (In January, Byrne won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.)
“I read the script and it was the kind of script you don’t forget reading. There have not been many times as an actress that I’ve had something come my way that was this compelling. I was obsessed with it,” Byrne said of the film in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “And then [director Mary Bronstein] and I met, and we were lucky enough to just kind of hit it off. This was the period around the Hollywood strikes and everything in the industry was shifting around so much, so we had a chance to work together on this character for months. I would go to Mary’s apartment three days a week, and we would just sit and talk over every detail, every piece of dialogue, every descriptive part of the script, every word on the page. But all of the preparation that we had done together over those months was also there underneath the performance. I’m just really grateful for the whole experience.”
