Texas A&M’s March Madness seed, opponent, destination revealed

After a 21-11 (11-7 in SEC play) campaign, Texas A&M basketball’s seeding and opponent for the 2026 NCAA Tournament have officially been revealed.
On Selection Sunday, the Aggies were announced as the No. 10 seed in the South Region and will face No. 7 seed Saint Mary’s in the first round of March Madness. Texas A&M will travel to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to take on the Gaels, marking the sixth time the two programs have faced each other. The last time the Aggies faced Saint Mary’s was in 2010 in Bryan-College Station, in which the Maroon and White secured a 70-53 win. Texas A&M’s entry into the postseason marks the fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

In Bucky McMillan’s first year at the helm in Bryan-College Station, the Aggies will put on their dancing shoes and compete against the Gaels on Thursday, March 19, in OKC.
While Texas A&M’s trip to Nashville, Tennessee, for the SEC Tournament was short-lived, ‘Bucky Ball’ made a statement in its first appearance against conference competition this season. The high-paced and high-volume shooting style of basketball that McMillan coaches proved to be difficult to stop against elite competition throughout the year.
Entering March Madness, the Aggies rank as the No. 11 scoring offense in the country, averaging 87.7 points, while also ranking No. 15 with 10.8 made 3-pointers per contest.

The massive weakness with Texas A&M has been its ability to establish physicality inside the paint, outside of graduate forward Rashaun Agee, who set the program record for most double-doubles in a season with 13. Agee has been the heartbeat of the starting lineup for the Maroon and White, but they can’t continue to rely on him alone to carry the weight inside.
If Texas A&M makes it past Saint Mary’s in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Aggies would face the winner of No. 2 seed Houston and No. 15 seed Idaho.
