“I know you don’t play about your personal business,” the 21-year-old joked during the event, hosted by Essence. “Just give me a little nod, or a signal to let me know when I should get the ‘T & Z Forever’ monochrome [sic] towels.”
But when Zendaya didn’t make any move of acknowledgement, Marsai added, “We’ll talk after the show.”
The comment prompted the Challengers actress to nod in agreement, but Marsai quipped, “I know damn well you ain’t finna be here after the show.”
As Zendaya laughed along, Marsai assured she wasn’t truly putting the Spider-Man couple on blast.
“It’s alright,” she added. “Later, later!”
