Power outages reported across the Tennessee Valley as storms pass through

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Numerous customers are without power as a severe storm makes its way through the Tennessee Valley.
As companies report power outages, the lists below will be updated.
Lauderdale County: 11,598
Madison County: 1,538
Morgan County: 373
Lawrence County: 223
Franklin County: 173
Colbert County: 1,442
Cullman County: 2,026
Lawrence County EMA:
“Reports of multiple Trees down across the county. Also, multiple trees down along AL-33 in Bankhead National Forest.
One motor vehicle accident already due to a vehicle hitting a tree down in the roadway.”
The City of Triana has opened its storm shelter located at 280 Zierdt Road.
Capacity is 240 occupants.
Officials have the following rules for the shelter:
No chairs, pillows, large bags, or strollers as these will take up valuable space. Babies and infants may be kept in their carriers.
NO PETS.
Please fill up the parking lot from back to front. This will allow for handicapped placard holders to park near the front.
Reminder on the rules –
1. No pets. Legitimate service animals only. Pre register service animals with the Shelter Manager at [email protected]
2. No smoking or vaping in or around the shelter
3. No weapons, firearms, or bulky items. Seating is limited. Please bring headphones for your personal devices.
