Brendan Bottcher to skip new team

Brendan Bottcher is going back to skip duties.
The Alberta-born curler will skip a team out of his home province featuring Geoff Walker and Northern Ontario brothers Tanner and Jacob Horgan, the new team announced Monday.
Bottcher was the second and Walker was the lead for Brad Gushue’s Newfoundland and Labrador team the past two seasons, highlighted by a Montana’s Brier win last year.
Gushue is retiring after this season.
Bottcher, 34, was a longtime skip before joining forces with Gushue. His former team won bronze at the Brier in 2022, while he captured world junior gold in 2022.
Tanner and Jacob Horgan were part of John Epping’s team the past two seasons. They did not qualify for the Brier this year.
Jacob Horgan will play third and Tanner will be second on the new team.
