Denver Broncos free agency: Top remaining free agents available

The Denver Broncos signaled they would be aggressive in free agency. However, that certainly hasn’t transpired to date leaving man fans wondering what exactly the Broncos’ brass is doing inside Dove Valley. The major theme for the Broncos has been ‘running it back’ and retaining their core of players who helped get them to the AFC Championship game last season.
Is that the best approach for them to make? Based on the flurry of comments over the past few weeks on the site and social media, most of Broncos Country is significantly underwhelmed by Denver’s moves to date. But it’s a new week and perhaps the Broncos will finally make an outside addition to their roster.
Who are some of the top names for them to consider? Let’s discuss some players I feel would be fits for the franchise.
Options to round out the wide receiver room
Truth be told, a lot of the best potential free agents ended up re-upping with their current teams. It wasn’t a strong free agency class to begin with, so I’m not necessarily upset Denver hasn’t made a move. The Broncos have their core four in Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., Troy Franklin, and Pat Bryant set to return for next season. Though they certainly need a fifth option in the mix to give Bo Nix more weapons in 2026.
Three players at wide receiver who the Broncos could consider are Jauan Jennings, Stefon Diggs, and Deebo Samuel. Jennings’ toughness and alignment versatility line up with what Head Coach Sean Payton loves at the wide receiver position. Last offseason, it was rumored Denver had interest in Diggs before he was traded to the Patriots. Additionally, the Broncos were also linked to Samuel before he wound up being sent to the Washington Commanders.
For wave two of free agency, maybe Denver circles back to these three and tries to bring one of them into the fold. I’m not too sure that will happen, but it’s certainly an avenue they should consider. I’m high on the potential of Denver’s young receivers, but there is no doubt they need a fifth guy in the fold to take their aerial attack to the next level.
Options to help alleviate the departure of John Franklin-Myers
Losing John Franklin-Myers puts the Broncos in a bit of a predicament on the defensive line. But in last year’s draft, they made a move up the board to secure LSU prospect Sai’vion Jones. He and Eyioma Uwazurike will be first in line, and likely a tandem scenario to help offset JFM heading to the Tennessee Titans. However, they could also look to the free agent market to bring in a more established veteran to keep their defensive front strong.
Cam Jordan, the 15-year NFL ironman veteran is a name I mentioned a while back. His ties to Payton are obvious and despite being 37 years old for this coming season, he has been durable and productive. Jordan has only missed two games in his career and posted 10.5 sacks last season with the New Orleans Saints. I certainly wouldn’t mind him being added into the fold on a one-year deal.
Outside of him, there isn’t much to write home about on the market. One other name to monitor is Calais Campbell. For years, a lot of Broncos Country had hoped for former Colorado native would return home. Alas, he has wound up signing with other teams to continue his remarkable career. At 40 years old, I don’t know how much he has in the tank, but there is no doubt his veteran presence and leadership would be a welcomed addition to a squad that has Super Bowl aspirations.
A name to monitor at tight end
The Broncos brought back every player from their 2025 tight end room that was one of the least productive in the NFL last season. Having Davis Webb call plays could help dial up some more production from the group they have. However, I certainly believe they need to add more talent to the room.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many options available in free agency that would be significant additions. The Philadelphia Eagles kept pushing back their decision on Dallas Goedert. Yesterday, they came to an agreement on a one-year deal to keep him in Philadelphia. He is now off the board and not an option for the Broncos.
David Njoku is the last well-known name left in free agency. Njoku is coming off a down season where he played in just 12 games with just 33 catches for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns. I’m not sure Denver kicks the tires here, but buying low on a one-year deal wouldn’t be a bad roll of the dice. If they don’t, I’d expect them to find themselves a tight end early on in the 2026 NFL Draft.
