Smoke plumes erupt near St. Patrick’s Day Parade route in Midtown | LIVE

NEW YORK – Fire and heavy smoke were reported Tuesday at a high-rise building in Midtown Manhattan near the St. Patrick’s Day Parade route, which is expected to begin in about an hour.
Video from the scene shows thick plumes of smoke billowing from a building near Madison Avenue and East 43rd Street.
Officials say the fire appears to be in an HVAC system on the roof.
The cause remains under investigation as crews respond to the scene.
