Draisaitl (LBI) to miss rest of regular season

Leon Draisaitl’s regular season is over.
The Edmonton Oilers announced on Tuesday that the forward will not play again during the regular season after incurring a lower-body injury during the team’s 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Sunday.
Draisaitl, 30, appeared to be shaken up following a collision with Predators second-year forward Ozzy Wiesblatt during the first period.
Wiesblatt caught Draisaitl with a hit at an awkward angle near the Preds’ bench with the Koln native slow to return to the Oilers’ bench. He left the bench for the locker room and did come back for one more shift in the period, but did not return for the second.
Draisaitl scored the game’s opening goal earlier in the period.
In 65 games, the 2019-20 Hart Trophy winner has 35 goals and 97 points, second on the team behind captain Connor McDavid’s total of 116.
After 68 games this season, the Oilers sit on 75 points and in third place in the Pacific Division, two points behind the division-leading Anaheim Ducks. The Oilers return to action later on Tuesday, hosting the San Jose Sharks, who trail the Oilers by five points and have three games in hand.
