Damone Clark joins Detroit Lions, bolsters linebacker depth

The Detroit Lions are adding depth to their linebacker room, signing Damone Clark on Wednesday to a deal with terms that have not yet been disclosed.
Clark, 25, got off to a promising start with the Dallas Cowboys after being drafted as a fifth-round pick out of LSU in 2022. He started 22 games his first two seasons but was a reserve during the 2024 season and was released by the team midway through 2025, when Dallas’ defense was struggling. Clark was picked up by the Houston Texans and made six appearances, with all but 23 of his snaps coming on special teams.
The move adds depth to a room dealing with the departure of linebacker and defensive captain Alex Anzalone. Detroit also officially signed linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez to a one-year deal this week.
