Iowa State women’s basketball begins what it hopes is a march through March on Saturday afternoon.
The 8-seed Cyclones will take on 9-seed Syracuse in the first round of the women’s NCAA Tournament at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT., on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT.
Iowa State went 22-9 on the season, including 10-8 in Big 12 Conference play, to earn an at-large bid to the tournament. It marks the Cyclones’ 24th bid to March Madness.
They’ll face a tough task against Syracuse, which went 23-8 on the season and 12-6 in the ACC. Iowa State is coming off a 77-68 loss to Arizona State in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament on March 5.
