A week after Ryan Blaney ended Tyler Reddick’s historic start to the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, Denny Hamlin notched a momentous win in Las Vegas.
Sunday proved to be more of the same from Darlington Raceway.
The 23XI Racing driver earned his fourth win in six races this season after starting from pole position. Despite the final margin of victory nearing five seconds, it wasn’t an easy Sunday for Reddick.
The No. 45 Toyota driver suffered alternator problems early on that required a battery change during the pit stops. He worked his way back to the front by the end of Stage 2.
If that wasn’t enough, he had to purge the water out of his cool suit later on during the final stage. Still, the dominant driver of 2026 continued his torrid start in the face of those challenges.
“I know never to give up and I think it’s very fitting that when we finally get our first win in Darlington that the Lady in Black would test us like that,” Reddick said.
Brad Keselowski won the first two stages of the race but Reddick looked like the fastest car of the field for much of the race. Reddick hit fellow front-runner Chris Buescher with 53 laps to go while Buescher was heading for pit road. His spotter Nick Payne hopped on the radio to reiterate that Reddick wasn’t at fault – it was more on the No. 17 Ford team for the late call.
Reddick took the lead with 27 to go and held on for another win. Here’s how things went down in the Goodyear 400:
Tyler Reddick held on to his lead over Brad Keselowski in the closing laps of the Goodyear 400 to get yet another win in 2026.
The No. 45 Toyota driver continued his charge through the field after multiple issues to take the lead with 27 to go in Darlington.
Brad Keselowski earned crossed the line first again at the end of Stage 2 to make it a sweep of the first two stages in the Goodyear 400.
Chris Buescher, Kyle Larson, Chase Briscoe and pole man Tyler Reddick rounded out the top five after 185 laps of Darlington today.
The pole man had to take extra time in pit road for a battery change after alternator issues during Stage 2.
Brad Keselowski collected the full 10 stage points after crossing the start-finish line first after the first 90 laps around Darlington Raceway. Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, Bubba Wallace and Kyle Larson rounded out the top five.
Polesitter Tyler Reddick leads the field away as he chases his fourth Cup Series win in the first six rounds of the 2026 NASCAR season.
