This means immediate evacuation is necessary for safety.

Additionally, a Level 2 “BE SET” evacuation notice is in place for residents in the High Cedars Golf Course community, located south of the Puyallup River near 150th Ave E, 188th St E, 184th St E, 176th St E, 168th St E, and off Pioneer Way E, 177th St E, and Patterson Rd E.

These residents should be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice.

A shelter has been established at the Orting Multipurpose Center, located at 110 Train St. SW, for those displaced by the evacuation orders.

While the City of Orting’s levee improvements are functioning as intended, there is concern about the levees upstream on the Puyallup River at the south end of town.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advise residents to be prepared to evacuate if instructed.

Residents are urged not to walk or drive through moving water or on flooded roadways. If driving, do not bypass barricades or travel on closed roads. For more information on evacuation areas, click HERE.
