Despite Justin Timberlake’s best efforts, the body-cam footage of his June 2024 DWI arrest was released on Friday. Earlier this month, the singer filed a petition to prevent the release of the video, which shows him struggling through the sobriety tests being administered by Sag Harbor police officers. According to the East Hampton Star, Timberlake eventually agreed to the release of a redacted version. Even though we aren’t seeing the full story of what went down, it’s enough that Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, is reportedly displeased with the whole situation. Can you blame her?
At one point, Timberlake has to explain to an officer that he’s in town visiting while on his now-infamous world tour. The cop didn’t seem to realize who he was talking to — a “Page Six” report at the time said he was “so young that he didn’t even know who the pop star was” — and asked what Timberlake was doing on his tour. “Hard to explain,” the singer said, seemingly straining to string together a sentence. “A world tour … I’m Justin Timberlake?” Then the cop, probably in disbelief, asked to see his license. (As it turns out, Timberlake did not actually say “This is going to ruin the tour … the world tour.” We had fun while it lasted.)

Perhaps most embarrassing for Timberlake is the footage showing him trying and failing to perform the field sobriety tests. At one point, while trying to walk heel to toe in a straight line, Timberlake looks at one of the officers and says, “By the way, these are, like, really hard tests.” Later, when his friend asks if they’re really “arresting Justin Timberlake,” one of the cops tells her that he “failed every single one” of their tests.
This footage is obviously not a great look for Timberlake, who already had to endure an entire cycle of bad press when this initially went down, but imagine being his wife. According to a source who spoke to People, Biel is “not happy about the renewed attention” brought on by video of her husband failing many sobriety tests. Biel reportedly finds the whole situation “stressful and would prefer to move past it.”
“She’s supportive of Justin, but she’s also not afraid to express when she’s disappointed in certain decisions,” the source told the tabloid. “This was one of those moments.”
