Jay-Z adds a third Yankee Stadium concert after instant sellouts

Watch as Jay-Z joins Beyoncé for surprise performance in Paris
Jay-Z made a surprise appearance during Beyoncé’s final performance in Paris for her “Cowboy Carter” tour.
Jay-Z’s triumphant return to the stage will be extended with a third performance at Yankee Stadium this summer.
Following the instant sellouts of the JAŸ-Z 30 and JAŸ-Z 25 shows announced last week, JAŸ-Z EXTRA INNINGS has been added for July 12. Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. local time March 24 via livenation.com.
The previously announced shows take place July 10 and 11. During the first show, the acclaimed Brooklyn rapper will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album “Reasonable Doubt.” The following night, Jay-Z will spotlight the 25th anniversary of his seminal album, “The Blueprint.”
The JAŸ-Z EXTRA INNINGS addition isn’t connected to a specific album, but will “build on the momentum” of the other two shows, as stated in a release announcing the new concert.
Jay-Z – who is using the throwback JAŸ-Z to mirror the stylization on “Reasonable Doubt” – already held the record for the most sold-out performances at Yankee Stadium and will look to extend his achievement with a seventh sell-out.
In addition to his hometown concerts, Jay-Z will also hit the stage with The Roots at the annual Roots Picnic Festival in Philadelphia May 30-31.
Jay-Z’s comradeship with the band extends back to 2001, when The Roots served as his backing band for his “MTV Unplugged” special and a “Reasonable Doubt” anniversary concert at Radio City Music Hall in 2006. Jay-Z’s appearance at The Roots Picnic will be his first performance with the band in more than a decade.
