New Mexico Hosts Saint Joseph’s Tuesday in NIT Quarterfinal

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team plays its final home game of the season at The Pit – Powered by Nusenda when it hosts Saint Joseph’s in a quarterfinal matchup Tuesday night. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN2 and air on Lobo Radio Network.
Season ticket holders will have their tickets for the game added to their account. Those fans should log into their account and click renew to purchase their seats for the game by 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Single-game tickets for Wednesday’s game will be on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets, beginning at $30 plus fees.
The Lobos (25-10) advanced to the quarterfinals with an 86-61 win over George Washington on Sunday night. New Mexico is the first team since Virginia Tech in 2008 to advance to the NIT quarterfinals with a pair of 20-plus victories. UNM is looking to advance to the NIT semifinals for the third time (1964 and 1990).
Saint Joseph’s (24-11) rallied from down 19 points in the second round for a 76-75 win at Cal on Sunday night. The Hawks are playing their third road game of the tournament, having opened the NIT with a victory at Colorado State.
The New Mexico-Saint Joseph’s winner will advance to the NIT semifinals, held April 2 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, against the winner of the Tulsa-Wichita State quarterfinal. The NIT championship game will be April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
