Prada to Open Upcoming Milan Women’s Fashion Week

MILAN — In a surprising move, Prada secured the first slot of what is expected to be a crowded Milan women’s fashion week, taking place Sept. 22 to 28.
According to the provisional schedule released on Thursday, the fashion house will be the event’s opener, staging its runway show at 2 p.m. CET on Sept. 22, moving up from its traditional slot on Thursdays. The brand will be followed that day by the likes of Diesel and Venerdì Pomeriggio, the new label by Vivetta Ponti.
Overall, golden tickets of this edition will include those for Simone Bellotti’s new collection for Jil Sander and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s sophomore ready-to-wear line for Fendi the next day. Also following the likes of Antonio Marras, Missoni and MM6 Maison Margiela on Sept. 23, Etro will stage its first show since the sudden exit of creative director Marco De Vincenzo earlier this year.
On Sept. 24 it will be the turn of Max Mara, Marni, Alberta Ferretti, Roberto Cavalli and Emporio Armani to present their spring 2027 collections.

The following day will see the much anticipated show of Demna for Gucci at 2 p.m. CET at an undisclosed location and Moschino unveiling its new vision under recently appointed creative directors and Sunnei founders Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo. That day — which will open with the Tod’s show followed by Institution by Galib Gassanoff, Sportmax and Blumarine — will be capped off by The Attico, the brainchild of Giulia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio that is turning 10 this year.
The fashion weekend will see the likes of Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, MSGM and Bottega Veneta parading their collection on Saturday, and Giorgio Armani presenting its women’s spring 2027 line at 11 a.m. CET on Sunday.

While the fashion pack awaits the debut of Pieter Mulier at the creative helm of Versace next year, there are still some names MIA, including N.21 and GCDS. As reported, Ferrari will temporarily decamp from Milan to present its spring 2027 collection in New York, timed with the opening of its new flagship in the city.
Debutantes on the Milan calendar will include Marques’ Almeida, the LVMH Prize-winning Portuguese brand founded in 2011 by Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida; fellow Portuguese brand Miguel Vieira; Neithan Herbert, a Mexican brand founded by Ecuadorian designer Neithan Ruiz, and Victor-Hart, recipient of the “MAX&Co. Design for Change” award at the 2024 Camera Moda Fashion Trust Grant.

As for the Italian fashion chamber, it will forgo the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards, its traditional gala dedicated to celebrating sustainability. Beginning next year, the event will evolve into the CNMI Creative and Sustainable Fashion Awards, with the ceremony still taking place at Teatro alla Scala during fashion week in September 2027.
To fill the gap, this edition Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will host a gala dinner at Palazzo Reale on Sept. 23, to coincide with the opening of the “Dalí e la Moda” exhibition staged at the same venue and developed in collaboration with the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation.
Overall, the Milan Fashion Week calendar includes 60 shows, six of which are in a digital format. The final schedule, which will include presentations and events, will be unveiled on Sept. 8 with a dedicated press conference.
