Wizard Wears Gryffindor Cloak In HBO Series

“Yer a wizard, Harry!” HBO is starting to roll out the first images from its hugely anticipated Harry Potter series, which will premiere next year.

The Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) network has released an picture of Harry Potter (Dominic McLaughlin) striding towards what looks like Hogwarts’ Quidditch pitch, draped in his Gryffindor cloak.

The image was posted on Instagram, with the caption “Tomorrow” and a lightning bolt emoji, suggesting more first-look images are to come from the account.

Harry Potter has been filming in the UK since last summer and will become one of the centerpiece attractions on HBO Max, as Paramount completes its WBD takeover.

Alastair Stout will play Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton will round out the trio of heroes as bookworm Hermione Granger.

Other cast includes Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.

Succession duo Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod write and direct, respectively. Gardiner serves as showrunner and executive producer, and Mylod will direct multiple episodes in addition to serving as executive producer.
