Delays and cancellations on Southeastern services as line blocked

Rail passengers are facing delays and cancellations.
Southeastern services are disrupted in Eltham due to a tree blocking the railway line.
Trains towards Dartford from Eltham station cannot run as a result of the obstruction.
Journeys on the Bexleyheath line are being delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled, or re-routed via either the Woolwich or Sidcup lines.

Passengers are being advised to allow extra time to travel and to check National Rail’s Live Departures boards before starting their journeys.
Tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on London Buses between Lewisham and Dartford, including routes via Welling.
Disruption is expected to continue until around 6pm.
In a statement, National Rail said: “A tree is blocking the railway at Eltham.
“As a result, trains running through this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
“Trains are unable to travel from Eltham towards Dartford.”

Anyone who has experienced a delay may be entitled to compensation.
Travellers are encouraged to keep their train ticket and note details of their journey to support any claim.
