Prediction, pick for Chase Hooper vs. Lance Gibson Jr.

Ryan Wohl details his best bet for Chase Hooper vs. Lance Gibson Jr. at tonight’s UFC Fight Night in Seattle.
In the second-to-last fight on tonight’s UFC Fight Night Prelims, Chase Hooper takes on Lance Gibson Jr. After losing to Alexander Hernandez in August 2025, Hooper is looking to get back in the win column, while Gibson tries to pick up his first victory in the UFC. The Prelims begin at 5:00 p.m. ET on Paramount+.
Below, I break down my best bet for Chase Hooper vs. Lance Gibson Jr. at tonight’s UFC Fight Night.
Before coming up short against Hernandez, Hooper won five consecutive fights from May 2023 to April 2025. Hooper is still only 26 and has plenty of time to work his way up the Lightweight rankings. After Hooper’s previous three losses, he followed it up with a victory. Gibson lost his UFC debut to King Green in December 2025 and last won a fight in November 2024.
Hooper is the taller fighter (6’1″ vs. 5’9″) with a larger standing reach (74″ vs. 72″) in this contest. This is a favorable matchup for Hooper, as he excels when he’s the bigger fighter and uses his versatile skill set. Gibson is also a well-rounded fighter, but he could struggle with Hooper’s movement and activity.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Hooper is a -325 favorite with Gibson being a +260 underdog in this contest. This bout is +130 to go the distance and -170 to end before the scheduled 15 minutes. Hooper has won 12 of his 16 fights in his MMA career by submission or knockout. In the UFC, four of his six wins have come by finish. Even though Gibson is skilled on the ground, Hooper operates at a higher level and is an elite finisher, especially on the ground. You can get Hooper to win by KO/TKO/DQ or submission at +100.
