HUNT VALLEY, Md. (TNND) — Vice President JD Vance claimed Friday that Representative Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota Democrat, has committed immigration fraud.
He said during a podcast interview with conservative commentator Benny Johnson that he has spoken with White House immigration advisor Stephen Miller about potential legal action against the congresswoman, who has denied the accusations.
“We’re trying to look at what the remedies are,” Vance said. “That’s the thing that we’re trying to figure out is what are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud, how do you go after her, how do you investigate her, how do you actually do the thing – how do you build a case necessary to get some justice for the American people?”
President Donald Trump and his administration officials have claimed for years that Omar, who has not responded to The National News Desk’s request for comment, married her brother to help him become an American citizen. She has rejected the allegations as “bigoted lies,” writing in a social media post in December that Trump was obsessed with her.
“He needs serious help. Since he has no economic policies to tout, he’s resorting to regurgitating bigoted lies instead,” Omar said on X.
