Vice President J.D. Vance attends fundraiser in Nashville area

A visit by Vice President J.D. Vance snarled traffic on Interstate 65 during the afternoon commute March 30.
Vance traveled to Nashville for a fundraising event, a person familiar with his travel plans to USA Today.
A Metro Nashville Police spokesman said security for the vice president was likely the reason for any traffic problems.
There was also heavy police presence downtown for an aggravated assault at 13 Lafayette St. near the corner of Second Avenue South. It was reported at 3:30 p.m., according to the Metro Police call log.
The vice president’s visit comes two days after thousands of marchers took to the streets in Middle Tennessee cities including Nashville for the “No Kings” rally.
