RELEASE: Oilers sign forward William Nicholl

EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward William Nicholl to a three-year entry-level contract beginning in the 2026-27 season.

The 6-foot-0, 183-pound forward has posted an impressive 15 goals and 11 assists over 32 games with the London Knights after returning on New Year’s Eve from an upper-body injury that required off-season surgery this past August.

Selected by Edmonton in the seventh round of the 2024 NHL Draft (196th overall), the 19-year-old has piled up 43 goals and 62 assists for 105 points over four seasons and 168 regular-season games with the Knights.

Born in Ottawa, the left-shot forward will look to help propel his London squad to yet another OHL title and a spot in the Memorial Cup as the Knights attempt to defend their junior hockey crown this spring. Nicholl has tallied a pair of goals and 14 assists through 35 career playoff appearances and dressed in nine Memorial Cup games.
