Vicky Pattison has been flooded with messages of praise and support as she spoke about being subject to ‘abuse’ for being open about her plans to become a mum one day.

The former Geordie Shore star revealed back in 2022 that she had decided to have her eggs frozen because her body ‘doesn’t have the luxury of loads of time’ while knowing it’s not the right time to have children yet.

Vicky has been open about her plans to start a family with her husband, Ercan Ramadan, and the pair, who met through mutual friends in 2019 and married in both London and Italy back in 2024, are now showing their family progress in new E4 documentary, Vicky Pattison: Maybe, Baby?, which follows the realities and pressures couples face to start a family.

Appearing on This Morning on Tuesday (March 31), Vicky, who starred in Strictly Come Dancing’s 2025 series, and Ercan opened up to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary about their uncertainty on whether or not they’ll have children, as well as the backlash Vicky received over choosing to freeze her eggs.

Vicky shared: “Three, four years ago when Ercan and I’s relationship was in its infancy, hadn’t been together that long, we were still getting to know each other and we wanted to give our relationship a chance to develop and see what was there before we rushed our timeline and had kids. That was our choice.

“But, I was also aware of this ticking biological body clock, the pressure that’s put on you by society to have it all figured out as a woman. We thought we’d do the responsible thing, and privileged thing, and freeze my eggs. We were really excited.”

A clip of their chat was also shared on This Morning’s Instagram, in which Vicky was heard saying: “I do understand, like, I look forward to the day that egg freezing is more affordable and more accessible for everybody and stuff like that. But I think there is an awful lot of stigma and shame surrounding alternative fertility journeys, because I don’t think they’re discussed enough.

“And they’re not discussed enough because when people do talk about it, when women do stick their heads above the parapet, they are met, like in my case, abuse. So I think it’s really important that we do continue to have these conversations, whether that be about adoption, about surrogacy, about egg freezing, IVF, remaining child-free, whatever it is, in the hopes that the more sunlight these conversations get, it’ll help people foster empathy and there’ll be less judgement.”

And the comments section was quickly flooded with messages of support. @fertility.action said: “YES!! Thank you @vickypattison! So grateful that you’ve spoken about this!” @beckyroberts_makeup_artist commented: “Well said @vickypattison. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey.”
