Easter is marked very differently around the globe.

United States stock markets will be closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday, the day when those who follow the Christian faith commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.
The Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will be closed on Friday and reopen on Monday, April 6. The U.S. bond market will close at noon ET Friday, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
After shuttering for Good Friday, it will be business as usual on Wall Street until late May. The next scheduled stock market closure is on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
US stock market 2026 holiday schedule
Markets will be closed for the following holidays in 2026:
- Good Friday: Friday, April 3
- Memorial Day: Monday, May 25
- Juneteenth: Friday, June 19
- Independence Day: Friday, July 3
- Labor Day: Monday, Sept. 7
- Thanksgiving: Thursday, Nov. 26 (markets will also close at 1 p.m. ET on Nov. 25)
- Christmas: Friday, Dec. 25 (markets will also close at 1 p.m. ET on Dec. 24)
