Iowa State center Audi Crooks plans to enter the transfer portal after three highly productive seasons with the Cyclones.

“I still believe the grass is greener where you water it, and I’ve done that here,” she wrote in a post on X. “It’s why I want you to hear from me directly that I have decided to enter the transfer portal and explore what it means to take root again in new ground.”

The 6-foot-3, two-time All-American led the Big 12 in scoring each of the past two seasons and ranked second in college basketball with 25.8 points per game while shooting 64.9 percent from the floor in 2025-26.

Crooks, 21, is one of the most prolific scorers in Iowa State’s history. She ranks in the top five in the program in several offensive categories, including points (second), scoring average (first), field goals (second), field-goal attempts (fourth) and field-goal percentage (third).

Additionally, Crooks was the only player in college basketball to record multiple 40-point games this past season and broke the Cyclones’ single-game scoring record twice, with 43 points against Valparaiso and 47 in a win against Indiana.

Crooks is now the 10th member of the team to enter the transfer portal.

Shortly after news of Crooks entering the portal was announced Thursday, Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard said that despite the high number of Cyclones entering the transfer portal, coach Bill Fennelly is going to stay with the team.

“His loyalty and his success has earned him the opportunity to finish his career the right way.”
