ATP Marrakech Day 5 Predictions Including Rafael Jodar vs Alexandre Muller

The quarterfinals at the ATP Marrakech tournament are set, as the clay swing is now well into its first week. Unfortunately, following the withdrawal of Yannick Hanfmann, we are left with just three matches to complete the quarterfinal stage, with Luciano Darderi already advancing to the semifinals. Despite that setback, it remains an exciting trio of matches, for which we will be offering predictions throughout. But who do you think will make the semifinals in Morocco?
ATP Marrakech Day 5 Predictions
Camilo Ugo Carabelli vs Luca Van Assche
Head-to-head: first meeting
Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Luca Van Assche, both at their best on clay, entered this week in need of a deep run after underwhelming starts to the season. After coming through three-set battles, they now compete for a place in the semifinals. Van Assche’s foot speed and use of variety, including drop shots and angles, give him a real chance, but he may struggle to maintain the consistency required over at least two full sets against the more reliable baseliner and returner in Ugo Carabelli.
Prediction: Carabelli in 3
Corentin Moutet vs Marco Trungelliti
Head-to-head: first meeting
Corentin Moutet, a top-three seed at ATP Marrakech, showed in his opening match why he is such a tricky opponent, especially in slower conditions that enhance his court craft and defensive skills. Marco Trungelliti, who recently made history by becoming the oldest player to break into the ATP top 100 for the first time, faces a tough challenge here. If Moutet maintains his composure, he should have too much variety and control for the Argentine. Trungelliti shouldn’t be underestimated, but nor should he be overestimated. The Frenchman is the likelier winner here.
Prediction: Moutet in 2
Rafael Jodar vs Alexandre Muller
Head-to-head: first meeting
Rafael Jodar secured one of the best wins of his young career in the ATP Marrakech second round, defeating Tomas Machac in a three-set battle to reach his first ATP Tour quarterfinal. The Spaniard, while naturally suited to clay, plays a more aggressive style built around his serve and willingness to finish points quickly. Against Alexandre Muller, who prefers to extend rallies with his strong movement and endurance, Jodar will need patience. If he manages the key moments well and keeps his unforced errors under control, a semifinal appearance could be within reach.
Prediction: Jodar in 3
